Decided to install a pi-hole at home, have many devices and users and pi-hole is the easiest way provide a solution for all of them.

What did i change?

  1. Disable DHCP server from main router (Internet provider).
  2. Enable dhcpd on my local server running OpenBSD
  3. Install raspbian on a PI3 and pi-hole
  4. Enable bunch of Hagezi subscriptions

Update

Increased a bit the scope.
After realizing how many requests were being block by PI-Hole, decided to extend the benefits to my mobile phone. One of the problems i do have every end of the month, is running out of internet on my 5g (company phone :D) so i’m assuming pi-hole will make a benefit on my BW usage. Enabled wireguard VPN on my OpenBSD Guardian node, which is the one exposed to the internet.

  1. Enable wireguard on OpenBSD
  2. Authenticate my mobile phone against the public IP of my homelab
